Ain't It Fine Here

Hey y'all,

It's been exactly two weeks and one day since I arrived in Fort Worth, Texas and although I've barely skimmed the surface of Texas living, I definitely have some thoughts so far :)

1. I have never seen so many pick-up trucks in my LIFE.
2. I have yet to see an armadillo, which is reminding me about the time when it took me a couple months before seeing a kangaroo in Australia... where ya at, animals?!
3. Texas road construction workers must have the world's worst A.D.D. There are half-built overpasses  at about every other interstate exit. I have yet to see a group of construction workers at one location for more than a day.
4. Once you try Fuzzy's tacos and queso dip, you will never look at other mexican restaurants the same (this includes you, On The Border).  I miss Viccino's pizza and Portillo's italian beef, but just typing out the word Fuzzy's has my mouth watering...
5. The ladies dress INCREDIBLY in Texas. My coworkers are some of the most fashionable people I have ever se and they wear heels daily. DAILY. I am really starting to feel like a slob in my flats and sandals at work and the process of picking out an outfit in the morning has been giving me even more anxiety than it ever has before.
6. The sunsets in Texas gives me chills. The colors shining through out apartment around 7:15 p.m. are outstanding and I'm dying for patio furniture so Derek and I can take out dinner outside and enjoy them some more!

Pictures of the apartment and more stories to come soon! I'm hoping to make it to a rodeo and the Cowgirl Museum within the next couple weeks, which I'm SURE will bring some fantastic Texan adventures.

Lots of love to all,
Carly

Howdy Y'all!

Hi Everyone-

Well, I did it! I have actually taken the leap of faith to move closer to Derek and have found myself 1,000 miles from the Midwest in good ole' Fort Worth, Texas! As an ambitious goal to stay connected with all my favorite family and friends back in Chicago and around the country, I thought a blog might just be the perfect way to share hot and steamy (as in over 100 degrees) stories and happenings in Fort Worth. Stay tuned for updates on our time here and what it's like adjusting from the Chicago to the cowgirl lifestyle.

Lots of love,
Carly
